Help me and my 2004 TD6 Vogue....Please....

Hi guys,

My names Gem and I have a 2004TD6 Vogue which I love more than my husband and yesterday it made a horrific noise... sounded like the exhaust exploding, I managed to get it into the drive but now it wont go into reverse. It made the sound on acceleration... My dad thinks it's toast... my husband says its not worth fixing but I am willing to sell both husband and dad if you can help me solve the situation.... any advice greatly appreciated!

That bang isn’t the exhaust. It’s not toast per say, but it’s not cheap is why they are saying it’s not worth it.
