Hi, I am 69 years old, I live in Hemel Hempstead, I have been offroading for about 25 years, I started off with a bob tailed Range Rover classic 3.5 v8, it had external cage, winch, lift etc all the goodies an off-roader should have. I used this for about 4 years, and as petrol rose and rose to unacceptable cost, I sold it a bought a dare I say it but here goes a Suzuki Jimny, I kitted it all out with all the bits again, and used this for 8 years. I then came back to the green oval, and got my current vehicle a 2004 TD5 90, I have had this for 3 years now and love it, it has all you want on a off-road vehicle, winch, roll cage, lifted, bush wires. I go offroading when ever work and money make it possible. I have CB, also I am a radio ham, have been on ham radio for 30 plus years. Ok that's me, what I would like to know how do you correct the speedo on a 90 with 285/85 R16 tyres, because it is about 5 mph fast @ 40 mph, any help on this would be most helpful. Many thanks. Welcome. Suzuki Jimmy's are OK wee trucks. Good power to weight with nice short wheelbase. An underrated vehicle. I can't help with your question as I have a series. It has same problem. With 750/16's it's 5 mph out. To correct this for a series you have to have a different speedometer dial. Not sure if the same applies for defenders. Try asking in the Defenders part of the forum.
