Hello from Wakefield

Hi guys,

Just doing the usual rounds on the internet forums, registered on a few but this seems the most popular place so thought I'd say hi!

I'm looking at getting a 110 hardtop as a weekend toy to through the mountain bikes in the back and go away for the weekend.

Not wanting to do too much off roading, just need one for the size and I've always wanted one.

I'm pretty handy with the old spanners so looking for any build threads that might be on here for some info etc.

I'm looking at spending between £3-5K, do you think this is enough for a 110, if so what sort of years will I be looking at.

What years.?......... 1983 onwards for 110's

How about What engine?

Petrol, Diesel, 200tdi, 300tdi, TD5

You wont get anything much good or newer than 2000ish for much less than £5000
And a well looked after 1983 model will not be much less than £5000 either.

Sorry I might not have been very clear in my original post, by years I meant whether there would be a specific age range I would be aiming at for £3-5k.

I open to petrol or diesel, but would prefer diesel.

I got an ex-commercial 110. Van panelled truck so no seats in back. Got it for a steal of a price - just lucky. The great thing with the 110 & no rear seats is I get 4 bikes, a body & a dog in the back. 3 in the front and up the hill I go. Misses not to keen on down hill, so got her trained to pick me up at the bottom for the taxi up the top
Bonus also being I 6' and can sleep in the back. With the van style, I got windows fitted into rear panels. Much better.

Try to get a 200 or 300tdi. Have you got a fellow landy owner? Get him / her to view with you. To easy o get carried away. Keep an eye out for a rot box chassis & bulkead.
