Hi all, firstly I wanted to say... great forum that is a hive of activity and knowledge that has helped me many times and have decided to join in and hopefully may be able to assist in the near future :)

I am not new to Landrovers and in the past have owned a Range Rover 4L V8, Freelander 2.5 V6 auto, Defender 110 TD5, Discovery 1 300TDI Manual "ChugChug1" & Discovery 3 TDV6.........so after moving to normal cars for a while I really missed the use-ability of the old Discovery and only a month ago bought one of eBay.

114000 miles 300TDI auto 1996 in dark green, the ad said sills and rear arches done, looked clean and honest.....when I went to pick it up, Yes sills done ok, rear arches filled with filler  and inner front arches filled, filthy inside, saggy roof lining, but boot looked solid but soaked and dirty, so re-negotiated and took it home and named it "ChugChug2"

After a month of ownership it's nearly finished but the list of repairs I have done was long but oh so worth it!!!! :) I will post some photos on here soon to give hope to others with rust issues!!! It's never too bad "honest"

List of work done so far:
Both rear inner arches "rust cut out" fully welded
Both rear door arches replaced
Both front inner arches "rust cut out" fully welded
Drivers footwell repaired "rust cut out" fully welded
Interior fully stripped and valeted £45 unbelievable results
Recovered headlining
Sound proofed roof and complete floor acoustic foam/flash band on floor
Wheels blasted and powder coated as original, new Cooper ATRs
Fully Waxoiled
Car fully mopped and polished, rear door arches painted to match
Mechanically checked but all pretty good for now!!

Things left to do: full service and replace hoses with "silicone" ones, tidy engine and get to the bottom of a slight whirring noise upto 70mph?

Photo's to follow
