Aaahhhh ok, thank you very much for accepting me into the group it is much appreciated. I live between Nottingham and Derby, I had just bought a 77 series 3 petrol that needs work....biggest head scratch at the mo is tidying up the wiring

The wiring on most old landies is cut around, and getting tired at that age.
Good investment if it saves your motor going up in flames.
Battery isolator is a good temporary measure.
