I'm new to your forum.
Having just bought an elderly Hippo ,that is showing signs of mechanical wear, I thought it prudent to read others experiences with this fantastic but much maligned motor.
Up to now I have replaced the front o/s drive shaft which was noisy and made the car feel like a wachine machine on full spin.
That cured the vibration and noise. But now I have a clonk driving in reverse, I know i've read all the forums and everyone has a different idea whats causing this.
Diff mounts NO checked
Diff NO checked
vcu CAN'T CHECK reliably and not convinced anyone can so i'm going to replace anyway!
Ird POSSIBLY I will change this as well and just hope it cures my problem.
