Well this heavy rain in Devon has revealed a nasty leak around my windscreen seal allowing a nice pond to develop in my passenger footwell. Any hints on the best way to remove/replace screen. I have ordered a new original seal waiting for a dry day to replace it. Thank you....

Cut the old seal with a Stanley knife to remove the screen. A post trims off. Clean screen recess. Fit new seal to screen and wrap strong thin cord around the seal. Soap water all around. Two people, one holdind and pressing the screen in place and one pulling the cord and easing the rubber lip over the frame. Lots of vids on YouTube.
If your helper pushes too hard it makes your job of pulling the cord harder. Go slowly and carefully and as soon as the rubber stops peeling over the lip STOP, feed the missed bit over with a blunt instrument until you can continue with the cord.
you may find it easier to remove the dash top if its your first attempt.
putting the seal in a bucket of hot water can help too if the seal is a bit stiff.
you could try a Windscreen fitting place? they might do it for a tenner?

Good description, Flossie. :) I used vaseline to lubricate mine. I used two cords and put one in the seal around the top coming out the two sides and the other around the bottom coming out the two sides to meet the top cord ends. Get one side of the seal over the frame lip, then the other side of the seal over the frame lip. This way you know the screen is central. Then pull the cords out along the top and bottom to pull the seal over the lip all around. Getting both ends in first is the only thing I found helpful on top of Flossies description.

Another thought, mate. I suspect most breakages occur taking them out, so very gently does it.
If you are half way through putting the new seal in and you need to take it out, again gently does it!
When taking them out, the screens seem quite tough and offer a little bit of flex. But, this lulled me in to a false sense of security and I flexed it too much! CRACK!!
You won't need to force it or bend it putting it in, as the cord 'pulls' the seal over the lip.
Have I stressed enough that bending it when you push it out is dangerous! :)
Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Yes, that's why I said to cut the seal because he's fitting a new one.
Assuming the glass hasn't had sealent splurged all around it, it will just lift out.

Got a nice new sharp Stanley knife ready to cut out. Got some nice new cord to feed in and plenty of lubricant. Thanks guys will let you know how it goes. After this its my door bottoms I'm welding up. Good at welding tho. So no problem there

Well guys all done. Old seal put new seal in all done within an hour. Your advise was a great help...

No more leaks... from the front anyway....
