My heater control water valve has sprung a leak , I see from a previous post that you can drill out rivet and look at diaphram which im assuming has a split in it , can this be replaced , its seems a bit of a shame to throw the whole thing away when its just this one piece that has worn out.

Thanks

I assume you are referring to a series three heater valve ? I found the easiest thing to do was bin it. Go to a plumbing supplier/builders merchant and buy a 3/8 to 1/4 bsp brass reducing bush at around £1 a 1/4 bsp elbow and a bit of 1/4 bsp pipe (I could send you the elbow and pipe FOC) an hour to remove the valve, fit the reducer and two bits of pipe then connect the heater pipe to the 1/4 bsp. The water will flow all the time but you only get heat in the cab with fan running.

divie , thanks for your help , I think I will just buy a new valve , im trying to be as honest as poss with restoration , was just wondering if it could be repaired , the valves are only £20 so I think ill just buy a new one

Thanks anyway
