Don't want to trouble anyone but if someone has their heater box off, in the middle of a rebuild or have easy access could anyone measure the diameter of the heater box intake?

I would myself but ive sealed it with silicone as water kept getting in (snow cowl fitted so its not rain!)
Basically when I was cleaning it all out I found you could increase the volume of air coming into the cab but removing the white plastic disc in the LR heater box intake box that fits to the wing. So my plan is to remove this entirely and run sealed pipe from the heater box up to the wing. Bit of fine mesh and a snow cowl and the heater should be much better.
If any one could help i'd be very grateful indeed.
