Was thinking of doing the headlamp mod on my 300tdi, but come across a possible stumbling block...
My 110 had a new headlamp switch just before I got it, so thought a bit of preventative modification with relays would be in order.
I'm sure there was a post on here somewhere, but I'm damned if I can find it.
The wiring mods are not a problem.
The thing is, on my fender, when you turn the side lights on, the headlights come on "dim" turning the headlamps on puts them to normal brightness, which at the moment isn't too bad.
As both headlamps do this, to approx the same brightness, I presume its supposed to do this.
not got me multimeter out yet, but would expect the sidelight to be sending 6V or more to the dipped beam,, that would, I would think either engage the relay I stick in, or at the least make it "chatter" and hence the lights flicker.
Or am I being dense and don't actually need the mod on a 300tdi???
