Head Bolt washers

Evening,

I noticed the head bolt kit I ordered never came with bolt washers and I can seem to find any info.
I would presume with aluminium heads that hardened steel washers would need to be used? Not just any washer from the tool box.
Anyone know? If so, where to get them?

Some engines use washers and some don't as they are effectively built in to the head of the bolt. Without knowing what you have makes things a little bit difficult as the old crystal ball is in 'eco mode' at the moment! May be you don't need them?

You list your present car as a 90. There have been 10 different engines fitted to the 90 over the years, some have washers on the head bolts some don't. It would be really helpful if your said which engine you have.

My mistake, I have a defender 90 with the 200tdi which - upon disassembly - had washers on the old bolts.

Use the same washers, can' t go wrong then

According to parts list 200 Tdi 300 Tdi and TD5 don't have washers on the head bolts. All the others do.
