Handbrake warning light not working

Hi there -
Freelander Td4 2001

Only just got my freelander, just noticed the handbrake warning light isn't working nor are the other two lights next to this in the same display.

Any ideas what the problem might be, where do I start in trying to fix.

the previous owners teken the bulbs out to hide a very egspencive ABS fault

Mondo - the abs light is fine, surely that would be faulty if there was a problem with ABS. The handbrake warning light is one of three within the rev counter display, the others being engine problem (petrol only) and cruise control - neither of the others apply to the Td4. Still no wiser as to how to fix this. Thanks.

Try looking at the handbrake switch on the hand brake its self. may have a bad contact.

The brake master cylinder incorporates a low fluid level sensor. Disconnect the two pin plug and turn the ignition on. The red brake/handbrake warning light should now be on, if not change the bulb.
