Hello all. I'm new on here and while looking for a Defender 110, a bargain Freelander TD4 fell into my lap and I bought it.

I know, I know... It's a hairdressers Land Rover, a Gaylander and all the other comments I have had (and will continue to get on here, I'm sure), but it was very cheap, 10 years old with a full service history (from a Land Rover dealer), and it only had 13,500 miles on the clock. The old fellow who had it died so it needed to be given a good home.

I had another Freelander before that, a while ago but that was a 99 plate 1.8, so it was sold after I did 29,000 miles after getting the cylinder head gasket replaced.

So anyway, hello, please go easy on me and I look forward to the ribbing I will undoubtedly receive. I live in Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire and I own some tools. But probably not enough...

You'll probably find that most of the defender owners who slag off freelanders have never driven one myself included and atleast you don't have to shout to make yoursen heard. Welcome to the forum

I do... I changed the radio for a DAB unit that goes up to 30! Thanks for the welcome

Yeah well I've got a pioneer head unit with a powered sub and a rockford fosgate amp for the speakers and I'm still thinking about making it louder to drown out the engine noise

It used to be 'hair by Justin' but I had to change it because that isn't my name.

It's now 'the go anywhere* hair emporium'



*as long as it's not too muddy, steep, wet or untarmacced
