My 2004 TD4 is a troublesome car. I bought it from Craddocks and it caused them trouble throughout the warranty period. Recently when going uphill the EML will come on and reduced power. Stop, restart and it clears until the next hill. When it's not on you can press hard with no problem. I've disconnected the MAF sensor and there is no effect. Recent Fuel Pump Reg, Alternator, Battery and full service plus Craddocks spent two weeks trying every last thing. ( I fell out with them 😊). No fault codes. Please someone have the answer. This car could end my love of Landies.

Check the sticky thread at the top of the page about loss of power at 70mph

Check your vacuum hoses to the turbo solenoid for holes and also you'll need a proper diagnosis session and monitor boost pressure and high and low fuel pressure

td4van is right the turbo vacuum hose can rub and then you have a hole in them but check the one that goes over the gear box as this is the main culprit and they are all connected but you will notice this on your braking as the peddle is hard and it seems as though you are not going to stop. hope this helps

just had another thought it could be you fuel pick up if you are going up hill the fuel will be going to the back of the tank unless you are pretty full
