Freelander 1 Glass polish

Not a Freelander specific problem but I guess someone on here may be able to help.
Years of dust and crud have built up in my side window seals and as the windows have been going up and down they have become hazy and have fine scratches on them. I have thoroughly cleaned the seals and tried to polish out the scratches using some metal polish. The haze has gone but the fine scratches are still there.
Anyone know of a good glass polish I can try?

You be wanting a glass cutting compound & a buff to remove the scratches not a polish

It would be easier just to change the glass for some less marked or even unmarked, then clean the channel regular.
