Albert the 88" S3 is being delivered tomorrow, cant wait for a good old fashioned 'freeze my nuts off'
session to have a good look round it tomorrow!

Better get some EP90 & engine oil then! Speaking of engine oil, would you recommend some high mileage
type engine oil for the 2.25L Petrol engine?

Depends on how much it uses. A good quality classic 20w50 is best,
forget semi or synthetic. If it's using pints of the stuff then get
the cheapest you can find......

New engine oil would probably be better.

/me gets nervous

That was mine that was. I drove it a total of 6 miles in the entire time I
had it and never offroad.

I have *no* idea what's going to fall to pieces on him.

20w/50 is what you want. If the engine is sound and doesn't leak
oil something like Formula or any other cheap motor oil will
do since it's usually not in there very long (and the engine
will be ok with any old rubbish). On the other hand, Morris
20w/50 Magnol is a very good "proper" oil, and Morris 20w/50
Ring Free is the mutts nuts - and a lot cheapr than most of
the branded oils.

Just done 39 miles in it & performed very well. The gearbox requires a certain knack & the steering is
very unusual at the side of anything I have ever driven but I love it & am gonna give ait a bloody good
clean etc.

Did you check the levels etc matey? BTW, it seems to have 2 chokes, only the one on the steering column
works? Is the other one for something else altogether like a take off throttle??

There was an interestng article in one of the LR mags not that long
ago about potential for problems using the latest silicon vodkakick
graphite enhanced turbo oils in older engines. Use an oil that was
contemporary for the vehicle when it was designed and you can't go far
wrong aparently, that's not the same as using any old cheap modern oil
though.

This link gives far too much info for your own good :)
