general bit of advise on a v8 and chassis and fibre glassing

hey everyone,
i am new to this and was looking for some advise on a few things!! first of all i own a D reg landrover 90 with a 2.5 turbo engine (well what was) untill it blew up i tryed repair and it is nakered someone bodged it before me and the bodge has failed badly!!

So i am going for a new engine but was sat there thinking well some other work needs doing so i slowed it down getting down and dirty and going for a full rebuild and brought a car to keep me going!!

i am looking to go for a radical design following aspects of the bowler wildcat having a v8 engine but its all confusing because they do use 200tdi engines in them to so i am all lost on wether to go v8 or 200tdi i wanted power more than anything any suggestions to go v8 or 200tdi???

when i do choose the engine going to buy a disco to get the engine so i have all the parts (intercooler, rad etc) becausue i wanted a new power steering system and all sorts all needs renewing!!


now the next part chassis i asked bowler if they would sell me a chassis being cheeky and for that they did not reply so im stuck with ether getting a landrover defender chassis depending on the engine i get to go in it!! but i am looking at saving weight to so is there acutally any compainies who build chassis out of lighter materail for comps and rally raids where weight matters??? for example if bowler wont sell me one can i get a company to make me one??

and can anyone reconmend best way to fibire glass body pannels like whole pannels i dont want to use the defender shell i want to fibire glass the pannels but keep that shape any hits and tips please!!
 
well these people do bodywork ...

and their are companys that make spaceframe chassis but i dont know the names ...
