Gearboxs prob

Pls can anyone tell me i have just put a secondhand auto gearboxs in my1989 range rover and when i put it in drive it stops in first gear and it wont change down has anyone got any ideas what it could be thanks james

Can't change down from first gear as there isn't a lower one:doh::doh::doh:
