Gearbox Problem 300tdi disco

When the gear stick is in neutral it should settle between 3rd nad 4th gear, mine pulls across to between 1st and 2nd gear?
Has anyone else had this problem? is there a simple fix?

yah have a look at that thread and the resposne i posted inc. the link to ashcrofts. if it is the plate thats ur problem then its not to difficult and cheap.

Have taken it apart and its the plate thats snapped, will get it welded up tomorrow and put it back together.

Don't bother welding it, the part is only £3.60 from the dealer!!
Take the opportunity to replace the springs at the same time, one is 75p and the other 80p.

I replaced mine last week and the difference is amazing.
