I have accidentally found a way of draining my auto gearbox sump.
At the MOT i noticed the oil cooler pipes were weeping so I ordered a new set and booked it in for a gearbox oil change and filter renewal on tues !st may.
Drove the car to a friends place and pulled up outside selected reverse Nothing.
looked under the front of the car and there was all my gearbox oil also a track of about 200yds of it down the road the pipe had blown big time had to call out roadside assist and told them i needed towing and they said be there in an hour.
1 hour later 2 people turned up in a car and asked if they could look at it to determine weather they could repair it there. I told them they could as I had the oil pipes and oil in the car but they refused the offer and ordered a flatbed to take me 2 miles to the garage I was booked into and said it would be an hour .well 1-1/2 hours later it turned up and took me to the garage so i suppose that all turned out well in the end but it seemed to me a waste of time to send 2 people out to check the car.
