gearbox help

hi,

i just bought a 110 with a 2.5 litre transit engine which i plan on off roading with a coiuple of mates.

the gearbox problem that i have is that it was in 4th gear and then got jammed into reverse and now i dont have any drive.... it may just need a rebuild / new forks? but weas wondering if this is general problem that happens to the box?

also was wondering what gear boxs are best for the 110? what work is involved? changing bell housing? modifying mounts etc.

any help will be much apreciated

i forgot to say that it is a lt77 gearbox and is there a better swap for it?

sounds like you shredded the output shaft between mainbox and transfer very common problem

i think it is locked into a gear, as when we were toeing it back and whenever you start it up you have to keep your foot down on the clutch... so it must be stuck in a gear and i cant get it out. is this what happens when the output shaft goes?

dont think yer have any drive at all when the shafts shredded? stuck in high or low?

dont know what gear it is is or whether it is in high or low, as i picked the car up with this problem.

the guy that i bought it off had troubgle getting it into 4th gear, then he avoided using 4th gear.

then he hadf it in reverse and it got stuck.... so he really yanked it and pulled it out of reverse and since then their has been no drive

yer get in start it up with foot ont clutch , then let clutch up then what happens?

right so its in high, prob 3rd or 4th, does the gear stick move free, ?

yeah and i cant ride the clutch to even move it a little bit!

not too sure as the previous guy had disconected as he thought it was a problem with the gear selector but it wasnt..
