Gear selector LEDs intermittent fault

Those red LEDs which light up to the right of the selected gear sometimes come on - sometimes not. Same with the 'sport mode' led. Anyone had experience of fixing it and who could point me in the right direction?

Possibly H gate sensor module under left side of H gate.
