Gear box

Hi All

My series 3 keeps jumping out of 4th gear changed the dent springs its got a 2.5 n/a defender engine fitted what other gear box will fit please any help.

the synchros and or gears maybe worn out, im just trying to think of what keeps it in gear, you may need to replace something or maybe try to get another series 3 gearbox, or try a gearbox from the vehicle that the engine come from, which i think was a lt-95?

4th is direct drive so it must be either the 3/4 synchro or (vaguely possible) the selector fork or rod. The only gearbox that is a drop in replacement is another series box. If you weld, shorten props and do clever stuff then later boxes can be shoehorned in.

i was thinking the selector area too, maybe the problem could be sorted without replacing the box with another hopefully.
