My '98 3.9 v8 disco must think I own an oil well , currently does around 10 MPG I accept that these are not the most economical vehicles to own but it used to do better than this. I have had the Plenum chamber cleaned , new gaskets etc and this fixed the idling speed problems although it "floods up" when idling at lights etc My garage fitted a new air flow meter and the engine ran a lot better but it seems to be running rich as I can smell petrol fumes on occasions but cant see any leaks anywhere. Can anyone help?
