hi,as title really ,,want to paint my shinny new r.o.w 90 chassis ,,don't want to leave it galv (toe rags beacon ) and don't want to do it black ,im doing axles and tie bars orange (stay with me it looks good ) body as yet will be red or orange ,so i fancy a yellow chassis ,,,springs are yellow shocks orange :eek: so any views or pictures if anyone has done or seen a yellow chassis or a colour suggestions welcomed :D:D

I think a metallic would look good. I always like the metallic gun metal greys. Or you could do your yellow with a tinted lacquer to tone it down a bit but make it very deep. I think the galvanise will take some prep-work to make the paint stick though.

... how about some hydrographics? I've never heard of anyone laying hydrograpics on a chassis yet.

Not sure how well paint sticks to a galvanised finish but sure someone with the know how will be along shortly.

As for colour, I'd personally go for a dark colour over silver...or yellow :)

Sure it'll look good whatever colour you go for

Also...etch primed my new galv chassis with brick/patio cleaner, sprayed it on with a Mr Muscle squirter thingy, Gave it three coats and left it a couple of hours then hosed it off, galv went dull;)

Ive often wondered whether that would work, few people I have spoken to have said no, but in my simple mind if it dulls the galv that means paint should stick good enough!

ha thanx guys ,,jury's still out then ,have been looking at a coating for industrial galv it is a clear coating that stays sticky for an hour or so ,then u paint the same make of paint in a colour of ur choice apparently it stays sticky so as to bond the paint to the galv and then goes hard i think its made by rustolium ,,,will have to check the name to be sure,as regards the chassis thats from marslands

Could see the galv smoking as it worked. No paint come off yet even dropping spanners on it.
Got four litres for a few quid and only used a bit....time will tell I spose:)
