Fuel Tank Cradle (Sorted)

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped me with this.
Especially gstuart!

I managed to get a genuine OEM cradle and swap it over myself, on my driveway.

I’ve taken quite a few pictures and videos, so maybe post something on YouTube to help others out.

Yours looks in better condition than mine was- it has basically rusted through so the front of the tank was wedged in by little more than wishful thinking! Always a bit daunting unbolting the old cradle, half expecting a (for once, full) tank of diesel to come crashing down! I used a couple of ratchet straps to take the weight of the tank.

Same here!
I put a strap on each end.
Thankfully, I think I only had less than a quarter of a tank of fuel. But it was still pretty heavy.

The cradle was painted when I brought it but I primed and painted it again for extra protection.
