Hi.

I recently did the head gasket on our Td5, and during the rebuild i replaced the fuel regulator. Ever since the rebuild i have noticed a smell of Diesel, and eventually traced this to a leak from the regulator. So i got a new gasket, and this morning took the reg off and fitted a new gasket, but on restarting its still leaking.

The leak is from the upper rear mounting, and is dripping off of the nut that secures it to the stud, which is where the leak was before i took it apart. I made sure that everything was nice and clean before reassembly, and this time around i out good quality sealer around each of the stud/bolt holes.

I have googled leaks on fuel regs, but everything seems to relate to o rings on the reg leaking. My thoughts are that there must be an internal crack between the fuel gallery and the top stud hole!

Has anyone come across this fault please?

Are you sure the small o ring that sits in the port behind the metal gasket is still in situ? Welcome to LZ by the way
