Well following the problems I have had with my engine oil out of places it shouldn't I have decided to strip it down and refurbish the bottom end (Head already done).

So far I only have one question, the fuel pump. Not something I have played with before except for doing the timing. Is there anything I should know before I remove it? I am assuming that I need to set the timing on it before removal or does it not matter as I will be removing crank, pistons etc?

I am sure there will be more questions as I go along.

Cheers

Ivan

Think you need to fit the timing pin into the slot on the FIP other wise the boss will spring back to the left that's what I did a couple of weeks ago stripping mine and just today refitted the FIP with pin still in slot then fitted a new belt and timing stuff just need to fit the head yet though

Assuming its a 200/300 just unbolt it and dont worry you can fit the timing pin anytime with no effort, but do not undo the 22mm nut on the nose of the inj pump!
