Hi, hoping someone can help me, my p38 diesel stopped the other day the tank was full of gunk, ive cleaned it out and put fresh diesel in it now start and runs but when i put it into drive or reverse it wont rev or pull away, if i leave it ticking over for half hour it suddenly just stops and won't restart till its cool, has anyone got any ideas? , cheers topper

What sort of gunk? If it was a sort of black slime, it's bacterial growth, you will need to flush the entire system with a batericide.
Regardless of what the gunk is, you will need to change the fuel filter and flush the feed pipe through. You may also have to have the FIP cleaned out.
I would add, it's good manners to introduce yourself in the appropriate section before asking for help.

Hi, didn't mean to be impolite ive only just joined and not seen the introduce yourself bit yet, i'll have a look for it on my phone, im andy and run classics and discoes for years before buying ruby when it started getting hard to drive a manual cos of health issues, it was water and fat from biodiesel not being filtered properly, ive flushed the tank and fuel line changed the filter and bled the pump till it was clear i was wondering if it might have weakened the tank pump so its not sending enough fuel through

Drop the filter, put a container under it and turn on the ignition, there is a set amount that should come out in a defined time, check in the how to section for info from Wammers.
No flow = in tank pump fecked, they don't like veg oil.
