Fuel gauge reads empty then back to normal

Hello, another question from my dad.

He has a 2010 TDV8 L322 which keeps apparently reading empty when it isn't, then after a couple of hours it returns to normal.

Anyone had this before? or ideas what could be causing it?

A bad connection would be my guess. Finding it is quite another matter.

Connect it to Charlie's temp gauge and it will read full all the time. Result

It will most likely be the connections in the tank to the senders will have four wires that need to be hard wired connectors available from dealer around 1.50 each if I remember right.
it is diyable taked around an hour if you know what your doing.
