Just changed my fuel filter (2001 under the bonnet type), which probably needed doing as when I brought the car it came with no history and was well unloved (I'm currently working my way through a very long list, when cash permits), so I thought I'd have a look at the inside of it as I was wondering if the paper filter could break down and collaspe the filter. I was really surprised at the build quility. The paper filter inside was very hard and stable, so anyone who has one of these filters can put their mind at rest.
