I'm toying with the idea of selling my hybrid trails machine known as the "Wild
Thing"

http://www.anoraks4x4.com/ThunderRacesPt1_files/image004.jpg

Its, as far as I know a SeriesII chassis converted to coils, Series gearbox and
V8 (SU's) Salisbury rear axle and fiddle brakes.

She used to be used in Welsh trials and won several championships over the
years, now located in East Surrey.

I'm only toying with the idea at this stage as she needs a bit of work, bushes
nothing serious, and I now need a offroad toy that has three seats so I thought
I would gauge if there is any interest.

I'm having email problems at the moment so please reply to the group.

As far as I was told when I bought it -

Chassis off a Daihatsu (shortened to 80")
Power steering off a BMW
Rover V8 on SUs
Series 2 gearbox
Salisbury rear axle
Dumper tyres on LWB rims
Brakes off LWB and/or 101
Home-made fiddles with twin remote servos
Fuel tank courtesy Calor Gas
Negative overhangs front and rear (IYSWIM - the tyres project beyond the
"bodywork" front and back)

From personal experience (I owned it for about a year), it's totally mental
and huge amounts of fun, with bags of power, huge amounts of grip and turns
on a 5p piece. If it was entered, it was the winning vehicle in most of the
CCV trials I have been to. Its only drawback is the rare occasions when it
starts to lose traction and those dumpers start to spin, when you find
yourself heading towards Australia very quickly. It's the ultimate
minimalist trialler, not for the faint-hearted.

No connection with Anoraks or Geoff, etc.

Cheers, Richard, I still don't know what to do, just moving it off the trailer
on Sunday put a smile on my face, maybe I can find a way of mounting a third
seat :))
