Does indeed look like a nice truck with plenty of potential with the old
gloss radiator roller to be quite a stunning vehicle.

I suspect paypal may have stopped doing that. Mind, I think you have to pay
'em to get monmey in large amounts from your account.

Personally, I don't do paypal for such things as vehicles... cleared cheque
or cash, except from people I know and trust.

picking a bit at random...

"Thus every transaction makes PayPal money, but it's nothing more than an
entry in a computer database on their system. No money has actually moved,
and there are no costs to Paypal. They are just skimming the gravy."

how does this make them different from any bank?

Very interesting question.

Here, they *do* come under the banking ombudsman, and I hope that means
in due course I'll be getting some money back from them (plus damages).

PayPal are not at all trustworthy if you are a seller. If you are a
dishonest buyer, you'll not find a more attractive vehicle for scams
anywhere.

The largest amount I've heard of being lost ("frozen") here in the UK to
date is 27,000. The sooner they are exposed the better, IMHO.

S.

Hear, hear! I looked into Paypal and concluded that it was so biased
against the seller, and the seller has so few "rights" to defend
themselves, that I decided against using it.

That little four eyed twerp made me redundant from the BBC. I think
Simon jumped before being pushed, but certainly suffered under
Birtism. At least at Paypal he's doing a job he *might* understand
being a Fing accountant. He knew sweet F all about broadcasting.

ditto, apparently, for a load of the non-nude teen model sites in the
states. There's apparently been a rash of inept/dishonest billing companies
going down the tubes and not paying money they've taken on behalf of others
over to those others. Most or many of these sites are AFAIK legal -
non-nude, non-explicit, models have parental consent etc etc., but paypal
have apparently pulled the plug on all such (presumably, to stop traders in
illegal kiddie-pron) and as a result all these billing companies sprang up,
and are now falling down again.

I suggested in one of the forums that a group of the legit model-operators
got together and ran their own billing.

As to the morality of dealing in non-nude pictures of youngsters, well, I
dunno. I doubt it does much harm - and in all probability they can't be
traced through the websites - that's how it ought to be, certainly.

What percentage of adverts include pictures of children? They are all
either commissioned or bought from stock. The demonisation of
photographers is getting very silly indeed - yet another group of
people subject to suspicion because they actually have a hobby or a
legitimate business.

It seems that anything that includes doing something - offroading,
shooting, hunting, photography, morris dancing - is now viewed as
subversive and 'to be controlled or banned'. In ten years we'll be
living in an Orwellian society watching censored telly and viewing
censored web pages, scratching our arses and wondering where our
pensions went....

Very true...I've lost count of the times I've fallen foul of the New Labour

Handguns, Loud custom motorcycles, Running dogs, Shotguns, Land Rovers,
Photography, any Libertarian instincts... the list goes on...

Okay, try this one, teaching 11-16 year olds, who think it is funny to
wear "hipster" trouser with thongs displayed over the top, or unbutton
tops when they have male teachers. I work in all girls school, and at
our meeting tonight this was one of our hot topics for discussion.
*WE* are accused of being "perv"s, female teachers of being "lezzers"
Trouble is, in teaching, "**** (allegations) sticks!"

There is no such thing as innocence anymore.
