hi ajk
there is a big debate around changing gearbox oil on the auto box. some say dont do it as the atf oil is a detergent and dislodges crud , causing more problems.
some say change it , drive around for a week , change it again .
some say its a consumable service item so change it..

if you search on this forum you can make your own mind up.

in regards to your problem , was the box drained to replace the cooler?
when refilling you will only get a couple of litres of oil in before it overflows, you then need someone to start the engine and move it through r n d 3 2 1 and back up slowly while you fill it , you will probably get another 3 or 4l in .
sorry its not a definitive answer .

thanks for reply i have searched forum after forum seems to be to many symtoms and faults all the same?part of me thinks electrical because no clang or bang the other thinks something blocked mechanical? dashboard now showing gearbox fault will i have to pay landrover man to come to me to read fault more money?

worth putting a help wanted message on the forum .
Lots of the guys have fault readers and will come to you (obviously it will cost you. Maybe a cup of tea , probably cash). cheaper than dealer though.
