Hi all, new to this site, first post here.

Just wondering can anyone tell me where the thermostat is located in the engine of a 1998 Freelander diesel? The top hose is hot and the bottom is cold so I think the thermostat is stuck.

Any help/advice appreciated.
 
Assuming your on about the L series engine its on the front of the engine block, bolted to the oil cooler.According to haynes bible (have you got one?) better access from underneath, removing the sump guard. Ive got a Td4 so read that from my haynes manual.
