I've had a couple problems pop up in the past week or so on my '03
Freelander HSE. I wondered if any of you have had these problems or
could tell me what to expect to get them repaired...

First off, the driver's side windshield wiper no longer works. The
passenger side works fine, but the driver's side stays stationary. If
you move it with your hand, it moves very easily back and forth, more so
than it should. Any suggestions? How expensive is this going to be?

Secondly, the navigation system sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. You
can't ever count on it to work. I've seen the following issues with it
at random times (and then they all go away):
- GPS MODUL ERR on the screen
- ANTENNA ERROR on the screen
- CALC ROUTE for more than an hour
- OFF ROAD even if i start it off in a place it would usually know
street names
- and then sometimes it works perfectly!

Is that a common problem? It's almost more frustrating than just KNOWING
it work for sure..

Hello Brandon
I think the windscreen wiper problem may be caused by the tapered 'fine'
spline becoming loose, ie, the inner spindle is turning, but not the outer
cone.
This may just be a case of removing the arm cover and tightening the large
nut. Do it with both arms at rest if possible
