any ideas before I goto a garage, but my 2002 model td4 clutch is starting
to stick down when doing first and reverse maneouvering etc.....very
annoying and I must look like a member of the fairer sex when parking in a
car park :) (only joking)

Sounds like the master cylinder. You need to get this sorted ASAP before it
fails altogether.

Ten minutes of this rain will do more good in half an hour than a fortnight
of ordinary rain in a month.

Assuming you are in the UK, it should be covered under the warantee.

Update the car is 1 month out of warranty the dealership says its the
secondary cylinder that is going and they should be able to push it
through on warranty but they advise that I pay for a new clutch as I wont
be paying the fitting, clutch £200 fitting £500, car is 3 yr old
41000miles.

I cant understand how much trouble ive had, :
turbo went in first 3 months
A/C gone 3 times
Constantly leaks oil.
Resonator box always rattles
2x warranty bodywork
£600 of suspension replacement 3 months ago due to knocking noise.

the irony is that this car has never gone off road ie they should be used
to be thrown about a lot more, when you pay £20000 for a car you expect
to be in a better league, Jesus man, my wife bought a BMW 316 for the
same price 12 months later and its perfect.

My experience with freelanders is "buy a Rav4" however i cant understand
how 7000 more freelanders were sold last year than RAV4's

I not familiar with the Freelander at all, but before you try all the
suggested expensive solutions....

Is there a return spring on the pedal? It could be wound round the pivot
shaft or be mounted externally. Is it broken?
