Hi,

Im after some expert advice please :)

Recently I have noticed when I have been driving my Freelander 2, once I have stopped and turned the engine off and got out of the car I can hear a continuous beeping noise. It only lasts for 20-30 seconds and then cuts off.

Ive looked on the net but cant seem to find a straight answer.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Might need a hard reset ...

Oh, an introduction in the relevant section is always appreciated ...

Anything in the Handbook about Audible Alarms ?
Fob battery etc ?

Thank you.

I will take another look in the book this evening.

So could the battery be low in the fob and therefore the beep is an indiciator of this?

Thanks for the reply. No I don't think so. It's a continuous beep, rather than a number of beeps as a warning sound. It also continues once I've locked the car. To me it sounds like something is running then stops, however it's a beep rather than a fan sound.

Very confused

Did you look in the handbook, as you said you would ?

" If the plip key battery is low, then when the signal is sent from the plip key the alarm will send a signal which sounds a buzzer for 10 seconds and the alarm LED flashes for 10 seconds to notify the owner."

Is the above of any help ?

Thanks. No haven't been home yet to check. However I will check later and use the spare key as a test tomorrow. I havent seen an led flashing and the sound is fairly subtle and coming from the bonnet, which I thought would be a strange place to indicate you about the key battery being low.

No LED flashing ? ... hmmm ...you may have to list exactly what happens when you stop, turn off and exit the vehicle, shut the door and then push the plip ...
Could be something really silly ... and then ....
