Hi, just joined so hope I am using this forum correctly. I have a Freelander 2 HSE 2009, which has been fine for years. Lately however, when switching off the ignition the engine shudders considerably before finally stopping.
I dropped it into the usual Land Rover main agent I use and they came back saying no fault was showing on diagnostic but they suspected the Mass Air Flow sensor, and quoted me £400 to replace. Thinking this was expensive I purchased some MAF cleaner and gave the sensor a good squirt but it does not appear to make any difference. Not sure if I should buy a new sensor or if this is something entirely different.
Has anyone any thoughts as to what the problem might be?
Many thanks
