Hi everyone. Just looking for some friendly advice.
I have a freelander 2.0 l series, unfortunately.
Basically there's no boost.
It doesn't feel like the turbo is 'working', so as you can imagine, it's terrible. On hills, even worse.
I have just done a clutch and everything was fine before.
I have checked to make sure every connecter/pipe is secure.
There's no air leaks.
It has a good vaccuum.
The turbo impeller is not sized or faulty.
The diaphragm seems to be ok.
I just can't get my head around why it would stop working.
It drives ok, no noises or jerking, just no power.
I was just posting in hope someone else has experienced the same or similar problem.
Sorry for the long post.
Thanks in advance.

You cannot say the turbo is not working - The vacuum is not related.
Also, you have done some major removal and refit in the engine bay.
I suspect that you have disturbed something in the injection system or similar - (knocked a sensor connection etc) that has caused the unit to go into limited operation mode. Probably absolutely nothing to do with the turbo at all.

I would check the fuel pump connections first of all... but - be logical - what could you have damaged - knocked / broken / chaffed etc when removing and refitting the gearbox.

It appears to be a logical deduction and the dcu has applied a safety override.

Enjoy. ;-)

Occam's Razor !!!

Google if you do not know the meaning.

I have checked over everything I have done and couldn't see any abnormalities.
Will definitely check again, as it will probably be something silly and minor.

I took a look at the wiring surrounding the pump, it looks to be in good condition.
But I'll take some of the sheathing further down the loom to check as well.
I have seen a few threads here and there with people complaining of things like warning lights/erratic idle/smoke to accompany their loss of power. Which I don't have.
I haven't had to many dealings with these vehicles.
I guess you can get a little overwhelmed reading too much on the Internet.

Thanks for the reply and advice.
Much appreciated.
