Freelander 1 upper back brake light change bulb

Hi, Looking to change the upper back brake light bulb as thinks it's blown, do you have to take off metal unit, with the odd screws or does the lense come off, which seems the easier option, if so how does it come loose?

not sure but I think you just take off the lense with the 3 torx screws, just like on the bumper.

take the lens off, screws from the back, lower the window all the way to get easier access to the screws

TORX fittings, there's a lot on these cars so worth buying a set of ratchet heads, not too expensive
