Freelander 1 rear wheel bearing

I've got a rear wheel bearing that needs renewing I've looked in the Haynes manual total waste of time
Just wondering if anyone has any information on the best way to remove without taking half the car apart as suggested by Haynes??
Car still has drive shafts fitted
