Hello everyone.
Been looking on here reading your comments about issues with Freelanders.
Ive had a few issues with my own mainly bloody turbo hoses which either split or come loose.
My current issue is with the sun roof not closing and the mechanism clicking really loudly when it gets to the bit where the sun roof needs to pull down. Ive tried the manual effort with a flat blade in the mech slot and it sounds exactly the same and is still not pulling the lid down. Sounds like a cog not grabbing or something and I wondered if the mech change is simple enough.
One other thing that happened last week is our one and only key snapped off at the end but the end bit has gone and so now I have a heath robinson method of starting it as long as the chip end of the broken key is near the barrel it starts.
It looks like I can now simply unplug the old ignition barrel from the connection and put a new one in its place but I am concerned that if I buy a new barrel the engine will not turn over or am I fretting over nothing?
Any help appreciated from you experts . Thank you - Simon
