I've just recently bought a 2002 TD4 and has developed a fault, no elec Windows Central lock alarm radio int lights heated seats.
Get 4 beeps when using rear power window. Checked fuses and rear relays which are clicking checked earths in the rear of the cab. Looked at CCM at the rear of the fuse box.

Now I'm stuck can anyone shed any light on this matter

Thanks Dean.

Were they all working properly when you bought the Freelander.. Is you battery new or never been changed for a while. If the battery okay then start by disconnect the earth wire then leave it for half an hour to discharge power to the ccu. When you reconnect the tailgate window will automatically drop. try the dash button to lift up the window. the door windows relies on the cubby box switches being okay. Try dropping all four windows if okay press the small yellow button then use the rear door switches for up and down testing.
The rest can be dodgy fuse lights and car seats. Mine is the same age 2002 td4 gs but a lot of switches fails is nothing new.

Hi,

The battery is a year old, I've disconnected the battery but no change still power window does not drop. Operating the toggle switch you can hear the relays clicking in the rear. I'll try again with the battery then check all switches to make sure they are working correctly as for small yellow button where is it located mine is only s 3 door model.

Thanks Dean.

Ah three door. Only on the 5 door model only the button isolates the switches on the rear passengers doors. Is yours a softtop or hardtop as you will have a microswitch I think someone mentioned previous for the tailgate problem. The motors in the back to drop the tailgate and the driver/passenger doors will make a sound also if the cables are stiff or snapped or incorrectly set. If you got a multimeter you could try and test to see if any issues with the power. Do you have a working fobkey as you can drop the tailgate window by pressing down the left button when you stand in front of the door. Then use the car key to turn right in the lock to lift back up.

Hi I have lifted the roof to operate the micro sw, seems all good that End. Key fob is not working at present another on the list to do now. Think I'll have to check all switches to make sure they are working as required, then start going through the circuit to try and solve these issues. It's just real frustrating. Cables to windows are all good as have no power what so ever. And realised today when I switch off the power on the key after driving ode meter resets itself back to 0 miles.

Thank you once again for your help.

Finally got to the back of the problem fault found and replaced both Fuse box and CCU due to a surge from electric window switch. My beast is back on the road. Thanks again for your assistance.

I am having some intermitant issues with the central locking not opening the car on the fob. Opens on the key and runs, but radio, interior lights and electric windows dont work. But then a little while later all works ok. Is this what yours was doing. I have a TD4 year 2000

Hi,

I ended up replacing the fuse box and control module and this fixed the problem. But ensure you get the key fobs. I did checks all through the system and I checked the continuity of all the system but the fuse box and control module fixed the problem. Hope this helps.
