Hi all, I've had to replace the air compressor on a 2008 Range Rover Sport. The one I've gone with is a Frankberg, which came with spare pipes, bolts and bracket. It's all fitted and the suspension is back working and the fault code has gone. The issue I have is the compressor is vibrating on the bracket and the cover is an absolute pig to refit (only one bolt aligns). Has anyone fit one if these compressors before? Also has anyone encountered a similar issue?

Hi

Must confess I’ve always stayed away from the cheap copies ,but always gone with OEM hitachi, AMK or Dunlop

Looking at the bracket which way have u mounted it plse as I see the compressor securing bolts are at the bottom with 3 x holes on the bracket to secure it onto the chassis

Not wishing to sound rude but wondering if u may have mounted it wrong , enclosed a pic of the way I think it should be mounted using the 3 x holes to secure it to the chassis

At the end of the day if it has been mounted correctly I would send it back and get a genuine one as they will also last a lot longer , personally have one from Dunlop that’s very quiet and lasted 4+ years

Also very important to replace the compressor chassis mounting clips and bolts to ensure the bracket is securely held tight against the chassis to ensure there’s no movement of the mounting bracket

Hope that helps

Thanks for the reply. Yea it's mounted as the pic shows, think the main issue the original brass push fit are on the right hand side, whereas this about one is on the front so not only the pipes need reworking but the cover then doesn't fit correctly. Think in future I'll definitely consult this forum before ploughing on and to be honest don't think it's the last time I'm gonna be under the car having now spent some time there and seen what else there is!!
