France Department 42 Good Garage

Hi, just been reading a couple of threads regarding poor LR service from garages in France.
I use a guy called Christian Roche in the Montbrison/ Boen area. Department 42130.
Its a small garage, he used to enter Defenders in the Paris Dakar. He is cheap and will get you going. He can deal with most 4x4's Tractors or any Machines Agricoles
He does all my repairs on my Defender.

yep. The French seem to be like that. Years ago, we were touring France on my Guzzi, and the pannier bracket snapped. Found a local garage/workshop. We could barely speak French Mechanics and the bloke couldn't understand English, but showing him what was broken, he jesticulated for us to leave it with him, and come back in an hour.
We buggered off for a coffee, and when we got back, the guy had knocked up a replacement part, fitted it and didn't want anything for it !!!
Amazing service.
As he was a smoker (aren't they all) we went off and got him 10pks fags......he was well chuffed.
