Bodywork - Deep metallic blue with a few chips and marks but good for a 15 year old car. Heated windscreen has 3 chips which have been no problem for past MOTs. Some corrosion along the upper windscreen trim. Note roof bars are not included. Apologies it is quite dirty in the pictures. I washed it ready for advertising but then 'someone' took it out in the snow!!

Interior - No rips or tears. Beige leather, slight wear and dirt on drivers seat bolster. Suede on top of drivers door trim is getting a little furry. One small windscreen leak when gutter water rushes forward but not when driving. Sunroofs work properly and do not leak. All dash gauges, illumination, and warning lights work (1 segment out in digital clock). Only thing not working is drivers heated seat. Note no head unit with car, but the remaining Harman Kardon equipment all works correctly, including the tailgate speakers which are not damaged.

Wheels and Tyres - 18 inch Falken Azenis road tyres in good condition with 5+mm of tread

Chassis - One of the reasons for sale, per the pictures the rear chassis is starting to show signs of corrosion. Having tried, I cannot perforate them, so no holes, but either for this years MOT or definitely next years, some plating will be required on the further back drop on the chassis. Note that the boot step is also badly corroded. Rest of the chassis is OK.

Transmission - Autobox works correctly, including the torque converter lock up (no shudders as the converter clutch engages). This locks fine between 52 and 57mph. The transfer box is fine except that the low ratio lock out solenoid is seized and needs refurbing or replacing. No play in the props, and no whines from the diffs. OS rear wheel bearing seal is starting to leak.

Steering and suspension - Steering box and power steering are fine (column lower UJ has been replaced). Rear tracking arm was replaced in Feb so brand new, no play in front arm or steering ball joints. Front shocks and springs are fine, ACE works, and drop links are OK. Rear airbags are fine and rear suspension works as it should. Car does not loose height on standing, and sits level.

Engine - With 157k on the clock, the engine runs well. It uses a little oil over time (more a leak than burning it), and when warm there is a cam/follower related tap suggesting a lazy follower (disappears when not idling) or worst case cam wear. There is very small water leak from the water pump indicating it should be replaced as the front seal will be starting to wear). The engine has had new rocker shafts and rockers in the last 8k miles, and the sump has been removed and cleaned to remove carbon deposits. In my ownership has had oil/filter every 6k miles to keep it clean.

Note that shortly after buying the car, I bought a spare engine (87k miles on the donor odometer but no documentation to back that up) with the intention of rebuilding and installing. This engine is available for £175 if the purchaser of the car wants it. It can be loaded into the back secured to a pallet and taken with the car.

In summary - The reason for sale is I have just bought a D3 as a family car, and also run a D2 TD5, so the V8 is now surplus to requirement. With the possibility of work being needed for its next MOT (possible chassis plates, but little else) it is being offered for sale as something that can be driven away and used, but may need some work to secure the next MOT.

Please feel free to ask any questions via PM if interested. Mileage will increase over the next week or two for local trips until the D3 is delivered.
