Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has ever fitted front fogs to p38 diesel manual,
the switch is there on the dash so will there be wires ready routed to the front for them ?

Thanks

The wires should be there behind the bumper. It may have had them before if the switch is there. Then again, when I fitted them on mine (when I had it), I never found the wires for the blasted switch! They looked nice as ornaments though (or ''jewelry'' as they term it now.......)
If they haven't been fitted before, you will have to get them enabled in the BeCM as Datatek says.

yes iv done a search and apparently it is the oil cooler for auto transmission behind one of the blank panels, could someone explain a little more on how to get them enabled ?
thanks.

i have 2 early manuals
one with
one without

havent looked for wiring
think you need a BECM guru
several on here, who can plug into your Motor and alter some settings
Rick the pick or irishrover seem to be well clued up

Yes, they can be enabled in BECM but remember that the reason they are not fitted into the bumper skirt is that one of them will block the air intake for the oil cooler. You should fit them to either a light bar or nudge bare to save yourself cooling problems.
As the switch outputs on a P38 are 0V to the BECM, you could wire them "The old way" using a 12V fused supply and a relay via the headlamp circuit and utilising the existing switch.

You can fit them to a manual no problem as there is no oil cooler to block at N/S. Landrover do not recommend they are fitted to Automatics with BMW engine as the air flow is blocked to the transmission cooler. However i have them fitted to my 2.5 DSE auto with no apparent problems from normal driving. Although I can see there maybe a problem if used for towing in summer.
