I posted the other day regarding the fact that my Cd autochanger wouldn't work, the radio screen would show 'No Magazine' or 'CD Waiting' momentarily before defaulting to radio.
Another issue was the fact that the cartridge would not eject, despite the sound of life from within the unit. I tried a few cable in/outs, all the time pressing the eject and managed to free the cartridge enough to remove it - but still no play
This fix worked for me -
1) Disconnect power cable from unit and remove 4 cross head screws to remove unit from cradle under sub-woofer.
2) Using allen key remove 4 facia screws from the front of the autochanger, this allows the external black casing to be removed leaving the galvanised inner workings in clear view.
3) Use a compressed air spray to clear dust and debris from the player
4) Carefully apply a very light oil to the visible slides and gears(I used clock oil) and definitely NOT WD40 - and obviously being careful to avoid the area around the CD reader.
5) Warm the unit thoroughly. I put mine on top of the boiler overnight
6) The next day carefully turn the visible gears using a finger - don't use a screwdriver as this will damage the soft plastic. By rotating the gears the various sliders should start to operate.
7) Re-assemble, replace 3amp blade fuse located beneath power cable inputf and refit to car.
8) Turn on ignition so radio operates and insert empty CD cartridge. Unit should start looking for a CD.
9) Eject cartridge and insert CD's and unit should play - at least mine did.
Hope this helps
