Hi, has anyone got any advice about fitting an adjustable tow bar to a military cross member please? I've just bought an ex military Series III 109. The NATO hitch has been removed leaving 4 holes in the cross member (although the top 2 look like bolts have snapped off inside as the nut ends poke through a plate at the back). I need to pull a horse box and occassionally a caravan so got an adjustable Series III Dixon Bate set through Paddocks. The plate is obviously designed for the standard cross member and the holes don't line up anyway. There are also only 2 holes under the cross member (and I don't think they are threaded) for the stiffner angle. Could I turn the bracket upside down, re drill the existing holes and just use them? Is re drilling the holes feasible anyway? Would I need a special tool/ drill? I also thought about getting a length of box section to bolt/ weld below the existing cross member.

Any helpful advice would be lovely, thanks

Der idiot! Just looked at Paddocks site and this time saw the right bit for the military x member. Must have been drinking when I ordered it!
